The Key to Environmental Precision
Testing and Balancing is an important part of the commissioning process, but it’s also a process which can be performed at any time, to make sure your system is running according to specifications. And, at a higher level of precision, it’s also a key to our success in engineering critical environments.
Testing and Balancing is the process by which IBS optimizes air flows and chilled or heated water flows within a building. The objective is to meet specified standards for airflow, temperature, and humidity, as well as the less tangible standard of occupant comfort.
It’s not just what we measure. It’s what we do with the measurements.
Our Testing and Balancing professionals use a variety of precision tools in their work to measure air flow, water flow, temperature, and electrical usage.
But the real measure of a Testing and Balancing professional lies in interpreting the data from those tools, and blending that knowledge with an understanding of the building and the systems being tested—along with the subtle, sometimes surprising interaction between the various parts of a building’s system.
At IBS, our Testing and Balancing professionals are seasoned experts. All are Testing and Balancing Bureau (TABB) certified technicians, with an average of 21 years experience. And, they’re also members of Sheet Metal Works Association Local 73.
All of which means you can count on them—and us—to make your system perform as designed.
